Koosalli waterfalls near Udupi
This is a 6 steps unique waterfall gushing down from the height of 380 feet. It is an amazing sight. It has three dwarf falls and three stunningly gorgeous falls. The sixth fall is the most attractive one with a 150 feet high drop.

Getting ThereKoosalli waterfalls are situated in the Koosalli village. It takes 2 hrs from the Koosalli village to reach the falls. It is at a distance of 95 kms from Udupi, 45 kms from Murudeshwar and about 14 kms from Shiroor. The ideal time to visit Koosalli falls is from November to February.
Things to keep in mindYou have to be very careful on its rocky terrain because it becomes very slippery especially in the monsoons from heavy rainfall. Strictest safety measures are to be taken when you are visiting the falls. If you are of a robust nature you will fall in love with the spot immediately and have a gala time. Your muscle power, patience and wittiness is duly tested here. Guides are available to help you navigate all through the way. Most of them are locals and of very friendly nature.
However the place has not developed completely yet in terms of tourism, so you will not find hotels or lodges near the falls. The nearest city where all such facilities are available in abundance is Udupi. While there, do not skip enjoying the local delicacies of the place.
If you are planning to go for the climb then it is highly advised that you keep all your supplies in abundance with yourself. You will have to walk through the forest for about 3 kms through the enchanting woods of the Western Ghats and then the rocky climb starts. Recently a pathway has been made by the forest department making it easier for the travelers you can take it. First timers will find it a little difficult in the beginning but you can feel rest assured that once to reach the falls you will feel the hectic climb was well worth the pain.
