Malpe Beach Near Udupi
The most famous beach situated in Udupi, Karnataka is The Malpe Beach. It is a natural port with a range of around 6 km to the west of Udup and located at the mouth of Udyavara river. It is also one of the famous ports for fishing in the state. It is also famously known as the ‘Beach Town’. It is also home to the Mogaveera tribe of people.
Around the Malpe beach, lie four rocky islands:
- The north island called as Daria-Bahadurgad.
- The southernmost island called Kari-Illada-Kallu,
- The Daria-Gadara-Kalluthe Island is situated in between the Daria-Bahadurgad and Kari-Illada-kallu.
- The fourth one is St. Mary's Islands, which is also called as ‘Thonse Paar’.
